Music & Musical Entertainment

Brett Rothenhaus
brothenhaus@nyc.rr.com
(646) 644-4578
Brett performs an eclectic set of music for birthday parties and events for kids 1-5, singing an age appropriate mix of pop songs, mixed with some classic kids songs to make everyone feel comfortable, and involved and included.  His parties include instruments for the kids to play, animal puppets for an animal song sing along, and lots of fun, interactive, dancing music.  He does musical story time, parachute play and the ever popular Bubble time! A variety of different activities keep the kids and adults very
engaged! He can perform as a solo act, or w his kids band!

I went to a birthday party where Brett's nonstop energy and enthusiasm for entertaining children and adults was apparent. It was nonstop: from the animal puppets (each child got at least one to play with), diving under the parachute, free form dancing, hundreds of bubbles, storytime and the interactive song lyrics- everyone had fun.

He performs at Perch Cafe a lot, teaches guitar at Beansprouts for kids. See the myspace website for songs and information.  He is an acoustic, folk, bluegrass singer with some great fun songs.

"With a bunch of groupies under the age of five... Kaplan, who released five CDs for grown ups before putting out his first kids' album, is continuing to celebrate with performances that all of his fans can enjoy. Five Cent Piece, a mix of Kaplan's own original work as well as covers of Mom and Dad's favorites, will have ears of all ages perking up. Parents will appreciate classic Stones with "You Can't Always Get What You Want," while their offspring may lean more towards songs about city apartment inhabitants - namely mosquitoes and roaches. The lyrics are silly - "they're tryin' on your underwear, checkin' out your grocery list, reading your copy of Metamorphosis" - and parents will laugh too, getting the joke that's years over their kids' heads."
