This
bakery specializes in sugar free, gluten free, wheat free and vegan
goods. Most goods are sweetened with agave nectar (often a safe
alternative for diabetics). Delivery to NYC. Great things from
cupcakes, to cookie sandwiches, to, of course! birthday cakes. You can
get a shipping quote from them too.
My recommendation, if you get a cake from there, is to ask them to be sure to make it the day of, and DO NOT refrigerate it in advance of serving it. It was pretty dense and dry after we refrigerated the one we got for my diabetic dad's birthday last year. Their frosting is pretty darn good, though -- rich and creamy without being cloyingly sweet. New York Mag named their cupcakes the best in the city last year. Anyway, enjoy!

Believe it or not, the Costco cakes are really delicious! (and inexpensive). An entire sheet cake for 40 people was $22.00. Everyone remarked on how great the cake was for Papa Tree's 40th Birthday. We got a carrot cake (no nuts)- and I have to say, it was pretty darn good. Only 4 slices were left after the party and Grandma Tree ate all 4 of them the next day (can say she loved it!). You have to go to the store at least 24 hours in advance and put in your order in person. This is a drag, but, hey, you can also pick up paper plates and cutlery too. The decorations are really limited- balloons, rainbows, graduation gowns, footballs, etc.
