They do coaching: for parents, time management, household organization, family fitness and Psychotherapy: for prenatal and postpartum, individual/child, couples and family therapy and also Special Workshops: transition to parenthood and creative artist/parent workshop. Alice has an extensive background in treating creative artists: she works with married artist couples, creative block for artists and what it means to be an artist/parent.
We see Alice as a marriage counselor. She addresses both parents fairly and sees both of our perspectives. She is very effective in dealing with relationship issues and how they can be impacted by changing circumstances. She is well versed in child development and child dynamics and gives down-to-earth and practical advice. I really like her.
-LucyI went to Alice and Sara's workshop on parenting, "Promoting Healthy Self-Esteem". They were down-to-earth, approachable and nonjudgmental. They were open to the parents questions and concerns. They gave concrete parenting advice. I went to see Alice separately for individual therapy afterwards- and still see her. She understands kids and child development and sets me at ease. She is also really good with discussing general life issues. She is good at helping me put things in perspective- reminding me I don't have to be a supermom. She reminds me that taking care of myself is taking care of my son. She does a lot of work with parent who are artists and helping them find a balance between creativity and parenting- which I think is interesting.

Brooklyn Postpartum Depression Support Group
http://www.brooklynppdsupport.org/
We
are two moms of young boys who each struggled with postpartum
depression and anxiety. Molly has a master of social work degree
from Southern Connecticut State University, where she conducted
research on peer support and also co-led psychoeducational groups.
Chris has been a phone volunteer through Depression After Delivery and
The Postpartum Resource Center of NY since 2002 and is a postpartum
doula with the Brooklyn-based Birth Day Presence. We established a peer
support group in Brooklyn in 2006 as a place
where pregnant and postpartum women can get support if they think they
are at risk for PPD, are experiencing symptoms and need further help
and resources, or are in the care of a therapist and want to attend the
group as part of their treatment plan. The group is free, meets twice
monthly (usually on the second and fourth Sunday of each month), and
babies are welcome to join us.
